mock mmi resources

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
@LilMermaid1 & @Lost In Transcription check out Course Grinder MMI on YouTube he does a pretty good job of helping to develop a style to answering MMIs and gives example MMIs.

Correct me if this is wrong SDN but I believe the MMIs came out of Canada. So there are a couple of Canadian based resources out on the web. Sorry I don't have a link for you.

Google is your friend. I like MMI for the mind but found it had many spelling mistakes which bothered me. It's a good read.

Great, thanks!! I have googled MMI questions and answers, but haven't found that many resources that were extremely helpful. Although some are good, I feel like most are pretty vague with their answers. I will check out the Course Grander MMI.

There doesn't seem to be too many great resources out there. Keep in mind that some of the common standard interview questions will come up through an MMI as well, such as "why do you want to be a doctor?" and some variation of "why this school?" From my experience, it would wise to reflect on different instances you have engaged with diversity, adversity, teamwork, etc. In many of the stations I had, you were expected to recall upon a specific instance and explain how it taught you some specific trait they're asking for.

the structure of the MMI really depends on the school I think. In Canada they are pretty similar, and focus on ethics, problem solving strategies, current social issues, surface level medical ethics etc... However, there are definitely schools in the states that use the MMI for literally a bunch of typical interview questions...
I would recommend looking at McMaster university resources, as they invented the MMI. U of Calgary also has good videos - although a little old and cheesy.

Look at this https://depts.washington.edu/bioethx/topics/

Here in Cananda, pretty much everyone reads Doing Right before the MMI, it's really focused on medical ethics, but it gets you into the mind set of looking at every point in a scenario.
