Hello it's my first time posting, although I have been lurking around here for awhile. After reading all the posts in this thread it seems like to me that one cannot make more than 40000 a year in public health even after you get your MPH. So my question is, is it possible to make 90000 to 100000 a year in public health?? If so what kind of education would I need to make that possible?? Would I have to specialize in biostatistics or another field?? Or would I have to obtain a PhD?? If you could help me out that would be great!!! TIA!!!!!!!!! 🙂

Sort through these listings: http://cfusion.sph.emory.edu/PHEC/phec.cfm

A doctoral-level degree (MD, DO, PhD) would certainly open up more opportunities for you than an MPH degree alone.

Biostatistics is a "hot" area in public health. Money is not too bad in this field: http://www.amstat.org/profession/biosalaries02.pdf

Industrial hygiene / chemical exposure cleanup and abatement pay very well (into the 100k range with experience). Train in environmental and occupational health if you are just looking for money.
