in the temple interview packet it says that the average salary for a pod first and second yr out of school is around 63K (or something like that, i don't have it sitting in front of me)...does anyone know of any stats that either validate this or prove it wrong...salary really isn't the important thing when getting into an medical field and i understand that, but i have read many conflicting reports on the salaries of pods and wondered if anyone here had any input....

Just do a simple search for salary, income, etc...It has been talked about many times before, so you should find plenty of info

thats just a little more than you make in residency...if the average pod after a 36 is signing for 63k, even as a base, that kinda blows for them...could that just be in phili??

I believe it.

There are going to be folks that have family connections and are already established (via family.. not personal talent)and can waltz into the higher salaries, but the down side is, who in their right mind wants to be a NO NAME SOCK PUPPET who is permanently tethered to their dad's buddy or worse yet, their daddy?

Imagine the hell that these folks are going to rain on their son and daughter in laws!!!

I got to go, my dad and mom need their lawn raked and gutters cleaned then I'm having them over for dinner. I'll post more tomorrow oh wait, I told my dad's friend (who hired me) that I would cover his hours at the office while he gets drunk at the golf club.

SOme people just never leave home!!!

Podiatrists have to undergo residency training after finishing school so that might be why their salaries are in that range. From what I heard, if you finish a three year residency, the starting salaries are pretty high.
