You're probably safe going with ASA standards:

For better or worse, that's the coming trend. We've already decided that anything beyond the initial 2mg Versed that most of our patients get in pre-op will warrant monitoring including EtCO2. That's a boatload of expense for monitors and add-on modules, but we don't see other options.
