I have heard that residents who have their unrestricted medical license, but have not completed their residency will have difficulty moonlighting after January 1st due to the fact that medicare will not reimburse hospitals for work done. As a resident who is planning on moonlighting soon, I would like to know if there is valididty to this and if there are ways around it. Thanks in advance.

I am currently moonlighting with an Immediate Care Center group. There is no indication that I will be out of work come Jan 1 so I guess it's a safe bet that I will not be impacted by the Medicare issue. I suggest looking in to Immediate Care or Urgent Care work for moonlightling rather than hospital work.

What source did you hear this from? I am in the same boat as you so I am interested.
