Can anyone comment on moonlighting in Ophthalmology?

Some people do general medicine moonlighting, some ask an ophthalmologist or optometrist in town if they need someone to cover saturdays

how common is this(how many residencies allow it)?. what is the pay range?

Moonlighting is not that common about 10-20% of the residents i know moonlight outside of our program, however, some programs also have backup call for which they compensate you. pm me I'll tell you more.
