ok..this is killing me!! one kaplan prof said Hydralazine is the one MOST likely to give SLE. THe other said it was Procainamide. Anyone know which one is MORE common?

Depends on what your initial condition was that required you to get either drug. If I have an arrythmia, it is much more likely to be procainamide. If I have hypertension, it is much more likely to by hydralazine. I have never heard either as being 'more common' across the board, I just look for the anti-histone antibodies and move on.

Yep, I agree with Idiopathic here. The Step 1 pharm was really straighforward, and I rarely had to even pick between similar drugs...or drugs that sound the same (i.e. never had BOTH finasteride and flutamide in the same MCQ).

i found in my annotated step up, that procainamide is the most common drug induced lupus. this info must have come from BSS questions because that's what i annotated my step up with. However, i agree with the other posts. I seriously doubt they'll ask anything like this.
