Heard they are getting rid of some, if not all, of recruiters. This was a job given to a pharmacist to go to Pharmacy schools and tell them how wonderful CVS is to work for. Set up interviews, hire interns and place grads in jobs. Have dinners for the students, take them to parks in the summer and all the special projects and gifts. Their budget must be 300K to 400K a year counting salary, travel and other costs. Waste of money with the oversupply of pharms.

Told that Merlo believes CVS is top heavy with management and there are not enough people/associates in the stores. Getting rid of the dead weight on top and supposed to put more money into the stores so there is adequate help to get the job done. Smartest person at CVS if the money goes there.

Consolidation of regionals next and will probably filter down to DM's and Pharm supp. I know of a few that should be let go. Have my fingers crossed.

Oh, a Triple S score trick I was told about. When the surveys print out on the register tape you give it to the customer with a Take 5 candy bar. Ask them to "take 5 minutes and call in to have a chance to win and make sure you tell them what a great job we are doing " Stores doing this increased their triple S scores 10 to 20 points because of a "candy Bar". Anybody else think this whole feedback system is dumb? Seriously, a candy bar.

nice! thanks for the news. if this means more pharmacists or techs in stores, that is a great thing 😀.

every recruiter ive met from the big chains was a smug and arrogant mofo. (one didnt even tell me anything about the chain, they just talked about how much money they make to do very little work) I think scaling back that budget is probably a decent idea. Course, the decrease in free food available on campus could be a little annoying, but theres enough free food to go around.

I liked the recruiter from CVS I worked with. Her job is probably mostly unnecessary, but she is a nice lady.

Slow to respond to emails, and I have no idea what she does the 11 months out of the year that she is not interviewing students (maybe she reads?), but still a good person. Also she is pretty much clueless with how things actually work once the intern gets in the store.

OK now it probably sounds like I am being sarcastic. I am not. I like her and hope she is not being terminated.

Should have done that long ago. But good news if true nonetheless.

Yup. I heard that too. In addition if you didnt know, they got rid of 3 area vice presidents. It was either that or 109 pharmacy supervisors and district managers. They went with the area vice president which is a good choice.

3 area VP makes as much as 109 pharmacy supervisors/district managers combined?

moral of the story, be willing to perform some shady business practices and you will be well compensated . . . until people find out and then you are let go.

Consolidation is still coming down the pipeline...

AVPs>Regional>Pharm Sups/DMs

Were only at the first part...

109 Supes/DMs or 3 AVPs...no way bro, the AVP cut was do able- cutting that much at that level of management would have been impossible.

...and AVPs arent making 5 mill/yr
