Schwarzenegger's new budgets imposes a 10 percent reduction on the rates paid to physicians and others who treat Medi-Cal patients, the state's version of Medicaid. That's on top of a 5 percent cut in this year's budget. A big thank you to all eligible california residents who voted for him or were too apathetic to vote.

Also good news for us UC and CSU students. A 10% budget cut for us means approximately a 10% raise in tuition. Thank goodness he cut that silly car tax. That way the rich people don't have to pay as much for their bimmers and the public school kids have to take out more loans. SWEET.

considering the fact that he owns a ****load of H1 Hummers... it's no surprise he axed the car tax

About the cuts in Medical Arnold proposed. Medical is hardly used by doctors in Cali b/c it pays so low. There is only one ortho doc who takes medical. But the CMA (California Medical Association) sucessfully sued and had the cuts in medical declared illegal so they won't be enacted without a ton more trials.

Jalby is right on this one. There are legal provisions that preclude the cutting of Medi-Cal payments to providers, and ahunuld should have a hairy time getting past those.

On a related note, Medi-Cal is 50% or more funded by the federal government (dollar for dollar matching funds) so cutting Medi-Cal doesnt seem smart since you're actually losing TWO dollars of service for every ONE state dollar you save.
