Anyone know why UNM didn't fill last year?

The positive attributes of different programs are all pretty subjective. The only thing people can help you with is "reputation", which even then can be pretty subjective as well. This is especially true when comparing programs in the same "tier" which yours seem to be in.

Best advice I or anyone can really give is to rank based on how you felt about each program. Allowing anonymous advice on the internet to influence how you spend 4 years of your life is probably not the smartest thing to do. To each their own though.

As to why UNM didn't fill, there's always only one reason a program doesn't fill. They didn't interview enough people.

Very true, but there could certainly be an interesting red flag of sorts about a program that I'm not aware of.

A program not filling may also reflect its desirability and if that's the case with UNM someone may be privy to why that is.

I interviewed at half of those places last year and think the order you listed is pretty good. I preferred Baylor over UT Houston, but you could argue either one is better.

Agree with Dr. Seuss, can't go wrong with either Baylor or UT Houston as both are really great programs in an underrated city. Different personalities though: Baylor seemed like a work hard play hard place with residents that seemed pretty happy/fun, very supportive attendings/PD, and a solid IR experience. UT maybe came off as a little more introverted/stuffy to me but it looked like they were pretty happy too with lots of research money/resources and ample perks, vacation time etc.

Can't speak for the rest of the places on your list.
