More NIH grants=Better Academic EM prog?

I found this NIH funding rank list, and am wondering if I can use it for anything where applications are concerned....

I dont think so. For one thing, the amounts are pretty small. If you had a 35k grant, that would get you on the list, and I dunno how much research you could do for the cost of a low end Lexus. I think there are probably other sources of funding that maybe more significant, and even if you knew those figures it still wouldn't mean anything. Its not all about the dollars you have, but what you do with those dollars.

That list is old. I'm not sure what the qualifications are to get on that list, but my program has held a major R01 NIH grant for the past few years. It's not listed, and is above the amount of the last amount on the list. Therefore, I would say the list is not inclusive of all programs.
