how did you find your opportunity at the pharmacy? i'm looking to do something in ventura county.

Call up your local hospital pharmacies and ask them directly that you are pre-pharmacy and would like to do volunteer work. First, I went through the volunteer dept at the hospital, and they told me that the pharmacy didn't accept volunteers. However, after talking directly to the pharmacy managers, they were more than willing to accept me as a volunteer.
