For those who have applied, did you find that med schools wanted recent coursework if an applicant took 2-3 years off from school to work?

I originally wanted to take 1 year off then 1 became 2 which became 3 years. I have been working but I was wondering if I should take more recent courses at night like one at a time while applying? Is this necessary?

if you have taken all the prereqs and did well in them, no need to take more classes. 3 years is not that much. i don't think anyone would doubt that you can still do well in school. good luck. :luck:

Only one school mentioned that it had been 3 years since I was last a fulltime student. The others that I interviewed with never brought it up. If you're really concerned, call the admissions offices and ask them if they have some sort of policy about it.

good luck!

If you did well in undergrad, I don't think it will be a problem even though it was 3 years ago. Also a good and recent MCAT score will tell adcoms that you're capable as well.
