Hello all,

I've seen a few threads about the APEX program from previous cycles, but none for the 2015 summer cycle. I applied March 3 and have my interview scheduled for April 27. I'm wondering what kind of interview questions I can expect. I imagine there's a tour as well, because the the time is from 9am to 1 pm. Anyone else applying this cycle?

Same here, my interview is on April 27th and don't know what interview questions to expect.

And I really need help from someone who has participated in this program? Can't even find much info about the program. Would want to know how good the program is, and how it will help one get into Morehouse School of Medicine- I mean how guaranteed is it? Of course it looks a really tough program in terms of curriculum.

Congrats! Glad I won't be the only one.

From what I understand (mostly from reading the older posts) the program does improve your chances of being admitted into MSM. It does say on the website that all APEX participants will be considered for interview when they apply for MSM. I'd imagine that, given how rigorous the program is, successful participation would speak volumes about your preparedness for medical school.

Thank you, and congratulations to you too. Yes, I saw that on their webpage but I wish a former student can enlighten me more. I am really interested in the program and will be there on April 27th.

I have an interview on the 27th as well. I also am having a hard time getting a deeper understanding of the details of this program. I hope to find out more before the interview!

Hey everyone I did the program last year and I will try my best to help out the students this year. If you plan to do this program I suggest you start studying heavily for Mcat now. By this I mean get all of your content review out-of-the-way before you start Apex. The first four weeks of Apex will be MCAT prep I suggest that you use this time to complete as many practice passages as you can. The MD courses start June 29 and this will be tricky because I suggest that you take your MCAT before the md classes start...and I know this will be difficult due to the new MCAT. A lot of those last year end up taking the MCAT during the in MD portion of the program which made it difficult for us to study both for the mcat and md test. I also suggest everyone to go ahead and apply for the MSMS program . So if you get to the end of the apex program and feel you have more to prove or just want more face time you can continue your studies at Msm.

Although it says all Apex participants will be considered for interview that does not mean that all Apex participants will receive an interview.

Thank you so much for the information. But was there certain grades and MCAT score that one needs to get to be considered for an interview or for possible acceptance? And please do you have an idea what ratio of your classmates in the program got accepted to Morehouse School of Medicine? Thanks again for your kind help!

Honestly the apex students were held to the same standards as other student that apply. So you could have made an a on all the MD test but if your mcat wasn't up to par you wouldn't get an interview . When you get into the program they are going to tell you what's a safest mcat score to make based off those that applied in this cycle. I seriously think the most important part of apex is the chance to get your foot on the door. Most of your mcat teachers that you will be spending time with are actually on the admissions board. And as far as acceptance rates some pll are still waiting but it seem like a little over 50% of those that applied will get in
