With this Oklahoma deal coming down the pike it got me thinking. There are a ton of states who continue to give the nurses more and more power, which ones actually have our backs? And specifically what do they do to protect us?

Texas?

They all kinda follow each other. What one does, the other does. especially if they think it works.

Also, how many states have gone with the “collaborative” model?

You would do better to look at individual practice and institutional dynamics.
State law is a minimum standard. Institutions and employers can and do impose higher standards.
The "collaborative model" is more of an operational decision made at a local level than a state law issue.

Isn’t Texas pretty anesthesiologist friendly?

In my opinion and experience... Very physician friendly - no state tax, malpractice laws that keep premiums down and huge cities with tons of land that keeps cost of living relatively low (for cities).

The AMCs there are above average, in general, as the practices themselves are above average. There are definitely exceptions, but I seriously considered staying after fellowship.
