I got to sprint through the halls in a hospital while carrying a big bag of drugs during a code. I jumped over a garbage back that an environmental service guy was dragging along...that was fun.

Maybe this would have been more appropriate.
Someone going into cardiac arrest after getting into an argument with one of the techs, followed by the pharmacist performing CPR. Pretty exciting.

👍
A bird in my pharmacy. I'm serious.
We had rats that chewed through the wiring for the recessed lighting. We only realized it a few weeks later when the place started smelling up something awful.

Why does that mean I hate my job? No matter how great the job its still a job. I would rather be off enjoying time with my family rather than working even if I had the greatest job in the world.

the fact that you view work as something that is "taking up your time that you'd rather spend doing something else" is telling. I personally wouldnt trust myself to do a good job if I wasnt able to enjoy putting in the extra effort. Not implying you're a bad pharmacist by any means, just that the concept of going to a job that is at very best, an annoyance is foreign to me.

Honestly, if you didn't need a job, would you still be working? My idea of an ideal job in pharmacy would be chilling at home, having an official company line connected to my house, and just getting calls and answering clinical questions from physicians and patients about drugs. Or being sent cases by e-mail and just replying to the e-mails with my recommendations.
the day med school called me and told me I was accepted...😉

No. But if i had to work, and i had a choice of say, 10 different types of extremely high paying healthcare/customer service/science jobs i would probably find myself working in a job that i enjoy.

You haven't worked or had many jobs have you? Its called work for a reason. If it were anything else it would have another name. Even if I was 100% satisfied with a job and absolutely loved it I would still rather be off doing what I wanted rather than working. Think about it for a minute and stop trying to argue for the sake of arguing...Mike is the only one who can pull that off.

I've worked many jobs, 40-50 hrs a week, including many manual labor jobs, and several pharmacy tech/intern jobs. I've been working since i was 14, in some capacity, with few breaks. I also worked through undergrad. I havent ever had a job i didnt enjoy doing. I couldnt even imagine showing up to work if that was the case. How can you spend your time at your job waiting to get off? What kind of life is that? I tend to suspect a positive attitude can make most jobs more satisfying.

99% of people are motivated solely by money and hate their jobs.
74.6569% of statistics are made up on the spot.
If I truly wanted to be happy, I'd be out in the Appalachians with a dog, hunting for 5-6 hours a day and then selling the fur.

You don't have kids or hobbies or do much for fun then, do you? He never said the job wasn't enjoyable. He would just rather spend more time at home with his family because they're his priority and has fun with them.
I'm in the same boat; I think we're all extremely lucky to have the opportunity to work as pharmacists. But come on, if you love your family or have hobbies, why would anyone in their right mind rather spend time at work than doing other things they love? I look at pharmacy as a great job and do enjoy it, but it will also be a means of allowing me to do the things I actually love, like travelling with my kids/family, playing golf, etc.
If all the pharmacists in the country who would rather be doing something besides work did bad jobs, patients would be in serious trouble.
Just out of curiousity, what is the most exciting thing that you have experienced in pharmacy? All experiences are welcomed.
this one time the register had a hugh line so I had to go out and take people's names on a piece of paper to make sure the pharmacist did the final check.......
