It depends where you live. In-state vs out-of-state tuition can be huge. CCOM, the school I'll be at next year, is not cheap, but it's arguably the best school...ever.

I'm in NY. I really don't mind travelling to any part of the country to be honest. I just know that I really don't wanna have to worry too much about having an insanely huge DO school debt cloud hanging over my head by the time I graduate lol.
Whatever it is it's NOT NOT NOT UNE. Highest debt load of any medical students in the country. MD or DO.

LECOM is the cheapest (out of state). 28k.
If your instate, WVSOM is pretty cheap too.
TouroCOM-NY really isn't bad.
The correct answer. And I'd do some unsavory things to get instate tuition from a Texas school.

I am not sure of OP's situation, but you may want to consider the cost of attendance (COA).
Some of the cheapest are LECOM and PCSOM (Pikeville) which are both around 55K / year.
Just a heads up, don't just go by tuition cost because for example in state tution at OUCOM is cheaper than many but when you add all the fees and COA costs, it is around 65K. Each school is unique.

UMDNJ used to have much better in-state tuition rate, but now it will probably be close to or greater than 30K/year. That's mostly b/c NJ is bloated with corrupt and incompetent politicians. We have the highest property taxes n the country and some of the wealthiest towns in the country. It's not a revenue problem.

Except, to qualify for in-state tuition in Texas, you have to have lived there and be gainfully employed for more than a year before you ever apply.
Or marry a Texas resident...

Yeah, in-state TCOM, or actually even out-state TCOM is the cheapest I know.
Keep all expenses in mind, not just tuition.
For example, KCOM (which is, undeniably, the best DO school out there), has pretty average to high tuition, but the cost of living is suuuuuper low. I can't imagine the type of place I could even get out there for what I was paying in rent for a CRAPPY apartment on the left coast last year.

Anyway on a more serious note, you could probably get one of those pretty nice posh looking houses on the far end of Kirksville past the super walmart and across from the toyota dealership for pretty damn cheap. I think to buy a relatively decent house was price quoted at 80K?

Just looking at renting right now, but coming from an expensive area my whole life, I'm shocked. I was paying 1600 for a 1 bedroom, which I SPLIT, with another guy last year. Just looking at houses in K-Ville right now. 3 bedrooms for 5-600ish????? Wow.

Seems "reasonable." 38k seems slight high - middle of the road, and cheapish cost of living.
