What’s up? Anyone remember me? Lmao.

Anyway, been out in private practice for ten years and wanna know what books are most popular in residency these days. I should read a little more.

Used to be Baby Miller and Morgan and Mikhail. Anything else become as popular?

Yao and artusio is good. Faust supposedly is good, there’s a new edition that just came out this year which I was hoping ppl had some insight on

I personally think Faust is a little too minimal even for a review book, but the content it does have is good quality. I will forever recommend Barash as an overall text. Yao and Artusio is probably your best bet if you're looking for a textbook "lite" (it's still quite large) and like learning in a case based format. Yao is a good read, but I think it's a little harder to look up a specific point from a specific topic compared to Barash.

So far, I'm a fan of big barash.

It is by a fair margin the anesthesia text I prefer. I had gone through most of big miller and morgan and mikhail in residency and ultimately found Miller to be dry to the point of being almost unreadable and Morgan and Mikhail, while very readable, to be overall lacking in content. I found that Barash struck a good balance between the two where it combined robust content with overall readability.

For residents? Morgan and Mikhail then graduate to Big Barash. I wish I had started Yao and Artusio earlier. Case base really helps, and they go through concepts well too. I read the 2014? Faust and while pretty light, it usually makes sure to hit the BIG concepts. It is, after all, a review book.

I personally crack “A Feast for Crows” and read it to patients. I can achieve the equivalent of 1.5 MAC with the right Brienne chapter.

Looks like things haven’t changed much on here. I could never get into Faust. Gonna get Morgan and Mikhail and do the ACE questions. That sounds like a plan.

Loved Game of Thrones, until the finale!
