So I took my MCAT in 2007 and it's 2010 coming up. Does that mean my MCAT is okay for this year should I be rejected and want to reapply?

I took the MCAT in July.

Double check with the schools you're interested in. That information's in the CIB. In my experience, I had to retake it because most schools required it to be within 3yrs of your matriculation date. Thus, July 2007 is only good until July 2010.

If I get in this semester I'll have been over 3 years since the test so I hope not.

It depends on the school. Certain schools allow all MCAT scores from 20XX and some schools might require July 20XX and on. You need to contact the specific school to be sure.

It varies by school, and the info is in the CIB for each school.

And it won't just say "MCAT scores expire after 3 years for our school" in the CIB...it will say something like "the last MCAT we accept (for the 2011 class entering class, as you will be looking at the 2011 CIB) can be from no earlier than August 2006".

I believe you are good for about half of the schools.

ditto to the above.

i had to retake mine for ccom in 2009 since i had last taken it it aug 2006 and they told me for this past application season the oldest score they would accept was april 2007.
so if you wanted to apply there you would need to retake your mcat.

I agree with most of the posts above. I last took mine in September of 07, but retook it this past May, just in case. I've been going through a lot of schools and they say that for Fall 2011 entry, the oldest scores they'll accept are from 2008, but you should definitely check for each school.

I took the July 2007 MCATs and just emailed all the schools that I was interested in and asked them if it was okay, along with sending them a copy of my MCAT results. a lot of schools were okay with the date, some of them gave me a waiver, like UNECOM, based on my score (35R) and others asked me to let them know what i had been up to since taking the test so they could consider waiving the date. Of course, a couple of schools wouldn't budge, but I still managed to get a fair number i could apply to.

So just do what I did and mass email all the schools and good luck!
