When you're trying to learn something, like diagnosis/management of a case, or procedure, or physical exam, or interpretation of labs/images... what's the best method for you for learning?

Lecture? Lecture with general concepts? Or lecture with specific case examples?
Textbook & articles on the topic?
Multimedia videos?
Real life demonstration on a fellow student/resident?
Demonstration on a patient at bedside/during clinic?
Read about it first quickly, then do it?
Just jump in and have someone walk me through it as we go along?
Figure it out myself with someone giving me pearls/advice after the fact?

Just curious.

Oh, and does your preference differ depending on what setting you're in? Hospital, clinic, ED, OR, classroom, etc.?
