Realistically speaking, what are the arguments for going for your OTD or just getting the MOT?

With the profession moving towards a doctoral program requirement within the next ten years, would it be better to just go for the OTD or wait to be grandfathered in?

So many decisions, so little time. I'd love to hear everyone's opinion on this.
 
I don't mean to sound unappreciative of this topic or your inquiry but there are already threads discussing this matter in these boards (during this year too)
