Does anyone know if there are known biochemical markers/expression pattern differences between alpha and gamma motor neurons?
I found an interesting paper showing that NT3 KO mice lose only gamma motor neurons, while SHH KO mice show a complete loss of ventral structures in the CNS. I haven't found any papers that show a way to differentiate between alpha/gammma MNs other than size and conduction velocity.
