Hey all,

I've been accepted to these 2 programs and I'm hoping to get some advice. I'm aware that Scripps is recognized as an excellent program, and Mount Holyoke's program (The Frances Perkins Post-Bacc. Program) looks good also, however I haven't been able to find much info on it. Specifically, I am interested in learning how it compares to the others as far as getting into med. school, satisfaction of PBs, etc.

I'm very interested in Mount Holyoke because it looks like a beautiful and healthy place to be. I'm not a SoCal gal, and that's why I have qualms about Scripps.

Any insight, thoughts, ideas, etc. would be much appreciated!

Thank you for your time.

What did you decide?
I'm still trying to decide and need to give my final decision very soon.
I think I will probably end up deciding on Scripps since I know it is a good program and have found very little on Mount Holyoke.

Mount Holyoke has a very good programs. There are tons of research and internship program. The place is really nice and you'll totally be immersed on your studies as there are no distractions whatsoever. You'll feel very welcome and really satisfied.
im giving mount holyoke a 👍

Why on earth would anyone want to go to a same-sex school? Let alone Mt. Holyoke

Unless, of course, you're into that kind of thing...

Hopefully everyone is aware that the undergrad campuses at both of these schools are women only, right?

Scripps is a women's school but it is one of the Claremont Colleges (Pomona, Pitzer, CMC, Harvey Mudd and Scripps), which are modeled after the Oxford system.

If my memory serves me correctly Scripps has a joint science program with the other Claremont Colleges (except Harvey Mudd and Pomona) - meaning that its classes are not women-only.

Also, Claremont Colleges students are allowed to cross register at the other schools, not just they one they officially attend. So even Scripps non-science classes will have men in them as well.

It depends on the class, there's certainly classes that will be all women... the classes in the postbac program will all be coed though. During one of my postbac years I was the only male Scripps student though 🙂 That was fun to talk about at parties.

what the heck is wrong with being "into that kind of thing"? and it has a name, it's called homosexuality. the only thing wrong with this picture is homophobes like you. you're offensive.

Can anyone share their recent experiences with the Mt Holyoke program?
