I don't want to make the game harder/more annoying for anyone else. We can knock it off and just make fun of each other in real life.

As others said, it’s not making it annoying. Its just going to be part of the whole package of how you are read.

There's definitely no concerted attempts at deception going on. My intention isn't to mess up the game for anyone, but the truth is she was fairly begrudging in her willingness to play so I'm trying to let her have as much fun as possible (at my expense) while still respecting the game.
I recognize we have an unfair advantage because we know each other, so I'm trying to be as upfront with everyone as possible about when I can tell she's joking. She's never played Mafia in any form before, nor is she familiar with SDN, so she doesn't know the "culture."
(Also, I realize the way I've been talking about her makes it sound like she's five. She is twenty-five and actually older than me.)

I recommend making sure she has email notifications off 😬

I wanna try very hard not to get the noob spookies about speechy but the post about PSV not telling her who PSV is made me ickkkk

I’m gathering this game is gonna be hard to interpret y’all’s interactions as serious or not

I agree that you should definitely still have fun
Lord knows I joke a lot when I play and prefer to keep things very lighthearted
But do be mindful that everything you say can and will be used against you in the court of yeet

For me it was mostly just the last one provoked a strong “is pleasey wolfing” reaction. I guess it because the second line sounds like pre-emptive defense/self-concious about how her play may be perceived and the language is a bit over-wrought and overly-careful (“lord knows”, “do be mindful”).

Pleasey and Paws have a sketchy tone to me, but I think I’ve only ever played with mafia Paws so that may be bias. Cray tentatively has a village tone to me.

I shouldn’t be, but I’m relieved that you’re suspicious of me. The uncanny reading the last few games I played with you was too much for one small vis, and I need to know that you can’t just take one look at me D1 and know my soul. Trying to muster the give-a-****itude to have a self-preservation instinct in this game is proving to be a struggle.
