When starting your residency on an HPSP scholarship, does anyone know for certain whether the military will provide relocation allowances or actually move you to your first base? I know once you're in you get moved for free, but how about when moving to your residency?

Second question: It seems like a no brainer to wait the 6 months to qualify for a VA loan before buying a home in residency. Anyone have any thoughts either way on this?

The govt will either move you or reimburse you for the move to your first duty station. This includes your residency assignment.
