Has anyone had to change their mailing address on short notice recently? Did you end up contacting each school individually to alert them, or did you just do it through AMCAS? What did you learn, and would you have done differently?

I'm having to move out of town, and I don't have my new address yet - I probably won't for another week, very short notice...

I have a post office box which I could forward everything to, but it will be 1 hour away, and I won't be able to check it everyday. I don't want to try to change my address twice in a matter of weeks, and risk something getting lost, or sent to the old address and not forwarded. 🙁

Hoping someone has been through this before - and will tell me not to stress 🙂

I used AMCAS to change my address. It was updated with the schools within about 4 days. That being said a few schools were slow in updating my information. You probably have a feel the schools you applied to that might be a little slow. Call those schools to make sure they have the right address. For example I had to call Columbia.

Thank you so much!!!! I really needed to hear from someone that it wasn't a HUGE ordeal to change an address. 😀

Have the US Postal Service forward your mail. It's quite easy, just google their website and click on "forward mail".

what if you're going away for the holidays, and you'll be out of the country for a month? Call the schools and let 'em know? Email them? I just don't want to miss interview invites and then have the school close my file b/c they think I'm not interested.
