Moving to a new state

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I have moved from Philly to Cincinnati for work then from Cincy to Atl for work and then from Atl to NYC and then from NYC to Chicago.. so yeah I have done it...

Recs for home buying..

1) dont trust your real estate agent research yourself.. realtor.com is a good start and ask people at your program for info.
2) if you have to pay to move your stuff save money by paying people to load and unload your van drive and rent it yourself.
3) This is just the start though.. do u have specific Qs?

you can always con friends into helping you load and unload with beer and pizza. also, you never need as many things as you think you do. make garbage-men happy.
Various and sundry moves included NJ to NY, NY to MD, MD to OH; now one coming up for OH to NY again.

I did it myself.

mward, what's up with your avatar? It never displays.

yea...I've been lazy, haven't come up with one yet...that'll be a new thread.

Did you move a whole house or apartment? We've got a house and we're moving from ATL to Cincy. Sounds like Ectopic has done that one about 2-3 times already.

Oh I did seriously do the Cincy to Atl move.. so opposite direction.. I stopped at a wendys on the way and people looked at me like i had 2 heads, it was somewhere in TN..

The ONLY other time I felt more uncomfortable was when me and my 6'4" asian friend were coming back from a St Pats event in Savanah we stopped in macon I crap you not everyone stared at us.. it was funny, uncomfortably and weird all at the same time!

And the guy played bball like a pro. Sadly, he moved to Hong Kong and actually passed away from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.. It was my first friend who ever passed away. Quite sad, I have some amazing memories though.

I do think that was why everyone was looking at us..
