Moving to a state with no ties during gap year. Will this seem like a red flag?

I'm planning on moving to a nearby state (7 hours away) during my gap year and getting a job to be a resident when I apply next year (2018). I don't have any real ties there, but essentially just think that I would enjoy going to medical school and living there. I'm kind of tired of where I'm at now and want to start fresh.

Beyond meeting official residency requirements, what do I need to do to show that I would want to live there long term after medical training and am not simply in it for the in-state benefits? All of the schools I'd apply to ask about "ties to the area" in their secondaries and I'd imagine it'd come up in interviews as well.

You moved there, that should do it.

I got into multiple state schools in the state I moved to for my glide year, invited to interview before I set foot in state (wrote about moving in my secondary). If anyone asks the explanation is easy, "I packed up my U-Haul to come down here, I'd prefer not to pack it again" or for a specific essay more or less saying you live and work there.

I know this isn't super common, but anyone else have input, experience or know someone who did something similar? I've been reading past threads but not finding much
