I know I am going to take a gap year before applying to med school, because my application is not the strongest right now. I will be applying during the next cycle next year. I have a 3.4 GPA and got a 502 on my MCAT. My advisor recommended doing a post-bacc program to bump up my GPA and I liked that idea. My PI and other professors recommended getting an MPH because that will help my application and help even after medical school. What do you guys think would be a better option? Is there one that medical schools prefer?

Post-bacc is going to help your undergrad GPA while MPH is counted as grad GPA. You can borrow fed loan to pay for MPH but not post-bacc.
