Can anyone explain to me the volume and pressure changes in acute and chronic compensated MR

Acute MR:
The LA has volume and pressure overload from MR.
This results in increased LA pressure and inability to remove blood from lungs resulting in pulmonary edema.
The volume overload also affects the LV by causing increased total stroke volume and LV filling pressure.

Chronic Compensated MR:
The LA dilates due to increased regurgitant volume.
The LA dilation results in normal LA pressure (or slightly elevated pressure).
The LV dilates via eccentric hypertrophy.
The LV dilation results in normal end diastolic LV pressure.
