Hello,

I got into MS programs at Liberty, NOVA, and LeCom. I was wondering which program had best Masters/chance to succeed to gain admission into medical school.

Thanks,
Carl

Out of the three, I would stay away from Liberty. LECOM is probably cheaper than Nova.

I forget what the specific requirements are for Nova's MBS program, something like a B or better in all coursework, and if you get an A you don't have to repeat the course. That might not be the precise requirement but it is something like that. I'm not sure if there is a certain score requirement for the MCAT. It's definitely manageable and I believe a good proportion of the MS students move onto the M1 year after completing the program. Sorry I don't have specific numbers for you. Perhaps there is a previous/current MBS student on here.

Do not go to Liberty.

I have no input on the programs themselves, but Nova would be the clear winner to me. LECOM is... interesting, to say the least. I'm not a big fan of what they do over there.

The only one I can comment on is LECOM. During my interview I met a current MS2 who went through the MS program and said that a good number of them made it into the DO program the following year, either LECOMs or another schools.

Ok well obviously don't go to liberty because you don't want to go to that med school. Aside from that I don't have much insight into the program but I know nova really well as a whole. You are looking at Nova and Lecom and lecom is a cheap med school but it is a tad weird. If you are ok with dress codes and not being treating as an adult you can consider it. The safer option of the 3 has to be nova and being that I know Nova so well I am sure its fine.

LECOM - 3.0 GPA with no failed classes = matriculation. Issue in the Postbac forum says Pharmacology has tripped up quite a few folks. Also read the 2013 thread.

Liberty is a new program, but the AACOMAS CIB states on pg 16 - Students with a 3.5 GPA or better with no grade less than a B in any
class will be admitted to LUCOM.
