MS1 Summer- Do something or not?

I was just wondering about the summer between first and second year.
I know it's important to do something medically related, but does it matter what? I'm not really interested in research, but if it needs to be done I will do it. I am interested in doing mission work in Tanzania for most of the summer, here is the link
