Hey, I just started year 2 with Immunology. We just seem to have so much going on with case studies, class, etc and I am studying everyday + keeping up. I did pretty badly on my first test and was wondering if anyone has advice for this course? Study strategies, how to retain the sheer volume of 2nd year material, etc. Thanks!

practice questions.... as many as you can get your hands on.

to add to above, if you are not already using the immuno section of Micro&Immuno by levinson give it a try

Thanks, I'll definitely try those resources. I keep going lecture and it just doesnt give me enough time to get through the material to really "study" it. Even after the first year, I still feel like I'm trying to figure out how I learn.

I am in the second half of second year and I've had to constantly adjust the way i study for each course so i guess its normal that you are still figuring out how to study. If you think going to class is not worth it then try skipping and study on your own and see how that works out.

Well, I guess it's just better if I describe what I do- class 9-3, start studying at around 3:45/4:00. I started writing detailed notes for every lecture as I go through it (we have a few exams and a huge final, so this method may hurt me now, but hopefully it will payoff when studying for those), so basically I am done with 1st pass and notes by 8:00 or so. Eat dinner and then study again for about another hour or so. Then, I relax for about half hour and get ready for the next day.

I did the audio thing for 1 course last year and it really didn't work out too well. The thing is though, I feel like the current schedule isn't letting me get enough passes in. Any advice on what worked for you guys when you transitioned from 1st year to 2nd year?
