I will be starting an away rotation soon and would like to get a clinical LOR from it. I was hoping to get advice on what attendings' expectations of MS4s' clinical skills are. I realize some of the more obvious things (read a lot, get comfortable with SLE, try to present, don't be annoying or rude, be helpful and enthusiastic, etc) but what other tangible things can I do or learn to prove that I might be worthy of LOR from the attendings that I work with? I greatly appreciate any advice or tips. Thanks.

I actually don't believe attendings have any clinical expectations from MS4. Sure we let our med students play with the slit lamp and look at fundus with direct or at slit lamp with 90 or 78 if there are able to. But only when there is time and it's not going to slow down clinic. So, I wouldn't obsess over the exam skill portion of it.
