MS4 elective advice

M3 here applying to neuro -- I am having so much trouble finding an elective for August. I wanted to do an internal medicine sub-i because I thought this would help my application the most esp since my clerkship eval is bordering on negative. But the only openings I can find at this point are either pulmonary or rheum consult services. Should I keep trying to find a sub-i somewhere or are they basically full at every school in the country by this point? Is it too random to do a pulmonary elective or does it really not matter what the elective is as long as you do well? Thx

Do well on any elective. If you really want to show interest in neurology with pulmo as an elective, ask if you can specifically be assigned sleep study patients. That's the best cross-over area I think. Sleep is up and coming in Neurology. Good luck!
