does AP credit count towards the required number of college math required to apply to several med schools? I used my AP credits to get out of taking calc 1 and 2 at my school.

I was also wondering how Medical schools deal with AP credits.
I don't mean to thread-jack, but do Medical schools accept AP credit?

i know some do and some dont take AP credit. it just depends on the school. a lot of them don't indicate tho, and then require "college mathematics"

Thank you for the help, kangar00.

no problem, VSU.

for other people reading this, do you know if the UC schools accept AP credit? there's a whole bunch of other schools too... how do you go about finding out if they accept APs?

I actually know someone from undergrad who had AP Calc 1 and Calc2, but his med school didn't take AP credits so he ended up taking math classes the summer before matriculating.

haha kangar if you look through my posts a lot of them were about math credit. most of the schools take ap calc credit. a lot of schools dont even require math as a prereq.there are only a few schools, very small handful that dont take ap calc credit. AP bio and chem credit is a different situation. if you didnt the basic bio class and used ap bio it gets tricky there, but math is easier. make sure on AMCAS you just write AP Credit: Calculus then designate the units you received for it.
