MSAR for DO schools: If transparency is the goal we need DO MSAR with the complete statistics

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I agree with this but grade replacement is more serious for most people. I think additionally would be better than instead

I'd be happy if any of the medical school ranking websites had accurate admissions data for DO schools. SmartClass lists some of the better DO programs as having 2.8 average GPAs and an average MCAT of 22 which simply is false.

Yeah most of that stuff on SmartClass is highly outdated. For most of these schools you just gotta hope they posted averages on their website--I think I saw an excel spreadsheet floating around SDN with 2015 averages(pre-new MCAT) for most DO schools.

Most schools post averages on there website. The problem is we don't get to see a true spread of the data like msar. Plus this is with grade replacement.

Most definitely. I would love to see the applicant MCAT/GPA spread(10th/90th percentile) with listings of clinical partners, research opportunities and so forth-- but I'm skeptical they would release this data even through a paid subscription. Maybe in a few years.

Let's see if the end of grade replacement has a positive effect on applicant stat averages or not. I get the feeling if it stays the same or continues to go up (it=GPA/MCAT) they would be willing to do so.

Yes. I agree. It just gives the people who would have used it anxiety for the next couple of cycles. Thanks for your response

There are only ~35-34 DO schools as opposed to over 120 US MD medical schools. The MSAR makes much more sense for the MD schools than the DO schools. I would like to see it, but it's fairly easy to gather these stats, especially since a lot of new schools are opening up and there are a few schools most people don't even apply to because of biases working against them.

Here is a word document which contains the MCAT, cGPA, sGPA, and LizzyM scores of the DO schools. Some of this information is a little bit older though since the MCAT scores that are listed are from the old MCAT.

Edit: I did not compile this data myself, I found this document on SDN.
