Let me give you one example

According to the Texas A&M website: 'Overview and Profile of Entering Class of 2011: The class is distinguished by a mean GPA of 3.63 and average total MCAT score of 29."

According to the MSAR: 2011 GPA Average: 3.75 and average total MCAT: 31

That's a huge difference!! I've seen the same thing for a few different schools. The data will impact the way I apply to schools next fall. What do you guys recommend I do?

There's a difference between mean/median, not sure if that accounts for the big difference though.

The MSAR lists "accepted" values. They may have accepted 300 people for their class (made up numbers).

The website is for the actual entering class.

The difference isn't actually that huge. The 10/90 percentiles will probably be very similar. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

This.

I believe MSAR also rounds up the MCAT score. If the average score is a 31.2, then MSAR will report it as a 32. That also helps explain some of the subtle differences between the website and MSAR.

Yeah, main difference is MSAR reports data for accepted, whereas schools report data for matriculated.
