New to MSAR and have few questions . UIC.

What does Applicant Median and Matriculant Median means for GPA and MCAT, they show them with light Brown and Grey color.? e.g MCAT 32 is MM and MCAT 33 is AM. Is that means that MCAT median score was 32 of accepted students, so they accepted students with MCAT <32, or 32 is the lowest MCAT they accepted. I would think its the former.

What does Matriculation data means in the Table.
e.g They says Interviewed 844 and Matriculated 315 , is that means 315 applicants were accepted in the end.

Regarding your first question, you're correct in your assumption that they accepted people with an MCAT below 32. It is worth noting however, that the accepted median (50th percentile) was actually a 33. That means they tended to favor people with slightly higher MCAT scores (clustered around the 33) but of the people they accepted, it was typically the lower scoring students who matriculated to the school which results in the MM of 32. As a general rule of thumb, if your MCAT is between a school's 10th and 90th percentile MCAT range, you can realistically apply there provided you have sufficient ECs.

Regarding your second question, matriculated means the number of students who ultimately elected to go to that school. Schools always give out more acceptances than they have spots for because odds are if a student was accepted to one medical school, they have a shot at being accepted to another one. This is part of the reason the process is as drawn out as it is. It is sort of an elaborate game of musical chairs that happens with people moving from accepted to matriculated, waitlisted to accepted, and waitlisted to rejected as spots fill up.

^^ Thanks @Go4Doc for a quick response

The way you explain it make sense. I am actually waiting for the Real acceptance data for 2016 since it has the New MCAT and what I have read so far the New MCAT format is tougher then the old one.
And I am also reading that MCAT in 2017 (Jan) was harder then the ones in 2016. If that true then the MCAT Median should be lower as compare to 2015 acceptance rate.

My MCAT is 511 just an average score, but have a higher GPA of (expected 3.99). I think I have sufficient ECs and Volunteering, Research and Shadowing.
I just started today to start looking into Schools I need to put on my list so I make a small investment in MSAR and hope it will pay off.

Yea, it will certainly be interesting to see what the median MCATs look like after MSAR is updated. The current cycle will be the first class to have predominantly new MCAT scores. Regarding your other statement, even if someone has said the most recent MCAT was harder, take a look at percentiles to verify. Unless the percentile score for a 511 has varied significantly from the norm, I wouldn't count on a specific test date to make an acceptable MCAT score stellar.

MSAR is a wise investment so I don't think you'll regret that purchase at all.

Interesting investment. Do you plan on actually living there long term?

Man Elon is on SDN now. I never would have thought.
Well he figured solving our energy and pollution crisis and making space travel a tourist industry wasn't enough. He can't just save the world, it's time to save lives as a cardiothoracic surgeon!
