Question: for the programs I have not heard anything from yet (a bunch of them!) do you think they were waiting for the MSPE (Dean's letter) to be released to them on ERAS today before they decide to send me a yey or nay letter? also, does it mean anything if I see on myERAS that they downloaded my MSPE (i.e. does it mean they are still considering me as a candidate) or do they get downloaded automatically???

p.s. I am applying for Neurology and preliminary IM year.

thanks!

Hard to say, as each program has its own criteria. I'm sure the neuro forum has a thread for interview invites, check to see if the schools you're applying to have sent out invites. If nobody has received invites, it may be safe to assume the program was waiting for the MSPE.

MSPE's are downloaded automatcially, so that means nothing.

Some programs may be waiting for MSPE's, you'll find out shortly.

Not certain there's any way to really know. Even contacting programs is likely to yield a "we're in the process of reviewing applications, please be patient" type of response.
