Hi all,

I have not applied yet, but would like to know whether it is mandatory to have your LOR's on MSU stationary. I have compiled my packet about a year ago and am wondering if I will have to recontact my professors. Thanks!

you need to have 2 LOR who will fill out the reference form that they supply with the secondary. It states taht they will not accept any other form of LOR. It sucks cause the form is a bitch to fill out so you'll have to ask people who would be willing to spend that kind of time on it. THe good thing though is that it can be anybody. I met with an advisor there and they said you could ask a neighbour (doesn't have to be a prof, or doctor)...as long as its someone who can vouch for you

Yep. It's a pain to recontact letter writers, but if it's one of your first choices, go for it! Beware though, they set a deadline from the time they send out the secondary to you.

No prob. They have you put a lot of information into the secondary. It takes time and thought. What's holding up my application is LORs which require MSU's own form.
