MSUCOM Orientation

Hi there! I'm going to be an incoming student at MSUCOM in the fall. I was wondering if anyone out there could shed some light on what activities actually take place during orientation. I'm sure there is time to socialize, sign tons of paperwork, get your class schedule and that it all culminates with the white coat ceremony. If anyone has gone through this and could give me a heads up, that'd be great. I'm looking forward to it!

Orientation is about a week and a half but it changes every year. You have time where you are introduced to all the resources of the school. Both academic, clinical and ancillary stuff.

Departments will come and give presentations, all the clubs will be around for people to see about extra curricular activities, the school REALLY tries to help you see ALL the opportunites that are available to you as a DO student.

At times it got a little long but I really enjoyed it. There are a ton of social activities at night that cater to more of the single crowd that the upperclassmen will arrange.

I loved the orientation myself but by the time it was done you were eager to start classes.

For me it was like August two-a-day practices in football where you don't have any real contact. At the end you are tired of practicing and just want to play in a game and get some licks in.
