Hi everyone! I keep going back in forth in my head about these schools and the deposits are due soon. Any insight is greatly appreciated!!

MSUCOM:
Pros:
-Reputable
-In state tuition (total COA seems to average 72k a year)
-Have heard it's a friendly and supportive environment from everyone I personally know who goes/went there

Cons:
-I surprisingly got the opposite feel of friendly when I was there (my tour guides seemed very stuck up and had a "better than other med schools" attitude.
-I have lived in Michigan all my life and went to undergrad at UMich. It seems ~80% of students are Michigan residents and also ~75% or so match into Michigan residencies. I want to branch out and meet different people, as well as have the opportunity to leave the state for residency or the rest of my career.

CCOM
Pros:
-Established and very reputable
-Has great rotation sites
-Best board scores of the 3

Cons:
-Total cost of attendance: 105k
-I was told by a med student there that they study more than most other DO schools due to frequent exams
-Graded

NYITCOM:
Pros:
-Really loved how friendly everyone was on interview day
-Students didn't seem super stressed out
-P/F

Cons:
-Total cost of attendance: 93k+
-Not as reputable (I think) as the other two schools
-Lower board scores

msucom.

Better residency opportunities, Cheaper so you have more freedom for residency choice. It is higher ranked, more research, better rotations, You can always leave MI for residency.

It seems like most people stay in the state so I'm unsure if leaving is "easy" to do as an MSUCOM student?

2/3rd stay in Michigan. With a majority of medical schools people tend to stay in region. I wasnt able to find data on the other schools, but I am assuming a majority stay in state or region. MSUCOM provides you with the best opportunities .

They stay there because MSU has tons of GME. It has nothing to do with difficulty of leaving. Last year they had a student match to U of Louisville for Urology and I won't say a lot but that he wouldn't have gotten that spot if he hadn't of been at MSU. It gave them great opportunities that they took advantage of.

Easily MSUCOM if you don't mind the tarnish that Larry Nassar brought to the school.

MSUCOM is the best choice through and through.
- It's cheaper
- Your career prospects are better
- Almost undoubtedly, there are more opportunities as this is a state school (research, etc.)
- Although I know nothing of the clinical rotations of any of the three, I'd hazard a guess that MSUCOM's are the best of the three
