Hi, AAMC traffic rule allows applicants to hold multiple acceptances prior to May 15. Does that mean I can say "yes" to more than one acceptance letters? I ask because almost all of them have wording such as "our receipt of this document implies that you will be a member of the entering class." Just to make sure. Thank you!

Some schools that start early have earlier deadlines than May 15, but I would think those schools would explicitly let you know.

Remember, there are people out there that are waiting for the spots you don't want. If you know for sure you will not go, then don't accept or if you already did, call them up and withdraw.

If you are waiting to see which school gives you the best deal, or you are waiting for a second look day, then make up your mind ASAP. Don't be an acceptance hog, it may feel good to be wanted by more than one school, but others are waiting for their first acceptance.

Congratulations on multiple acceptances!

That seems like strange wording. I would call them just to make sure (you're in already so it can't hurt right?). Usually they should have a line that says the form is non-binding before May 15th, that you may withdraw without penalty, or something similar. Anyway, you're most likely in the clear for holding multiple acceptances but a quick phone call won't hurt.

Just curious, what happens if you hold multiple acceptances beyond May 15?

I've heard from some adcom members that 1. they will know and think that it is very disrespectful to other applicants and 2. each school reserves the right to withdraw your acceptance based on the fact that you're holding multiple acceptances, possibly leaving you with no acceptances in hand.

However, I would hope that adcoms would give you some chance to see if you had a valid reason for missing this deadline. Emergencies/tragic events/ tough situations do happen. I'm sure this policy differs for every school which is why it's not worth the risk.
