Anybody here have multiple Board Certs? Is there any benefit to it? Any downside (besides cost)?

I don't have multiple board certs but I know someone that has 3. The benefits are having the credentials for potential to move to other positions which needs a specialist and just self-knowledge. The person I know that has them didn't really do it for just the credentials but he actually enjoys reading and educating himself everyday. Downside, besides cost, is a lot of time dedicated to reading and completing a massive amount of CEs...

Agree with the above. I’ve had BCPS for 8 years and BCCCP for 3?

I reupped my BCPS, but will likely let it lapse next time around

How did the tests compare? I was told by some ****-talkers that the BCCCP was easier due to the narrow focus of the material.

Honestly I took them so far apart it’s hard to compare. I prepared more for BCCCP, because I’m an EM pharmacist - I see all kinds of critically ill patients, but not as in depth as you would see in a specialized ICU. I did the 2-day SCCM board prep class and found it super helpful.

BCCCP does have a ludicrously high pass rate.

Do you mean multiple states? i am licensed in FL and CO, was supposed to take texas , but i may skip the test. ( even though i went through a lot and paid 1000 bucks). you may land a job in another state, but it's all the same stuff. Lower paying, lower hours, middle of now where, traveling all over to get your hours....etc. it's the new norm and only going to get worse.

I think OP is referring to specialty certifications, not state licenses.
