Then there is the very "successful" dentist in my area who just got arrested along with his wife and father in law for hiring drug addicts to steal high price items from merchants and then unload the stuff at the father in law's pawn shop for 10% of the estimated resale value. This went on for 15 years. This dude even has family members who are also dentists and who practice out of the same clinic. Prosecutors estimate this guy will get at least 20 years in the pokey while the wife/father in law could be looking at life.

What's wrong with these folks? Greed??? Addiction to the thrill of danger??? Too much time in front of the boob tube fanticizing while watching "Goodfellas?" Who knows.

I know some peeps go into dentistry as a means to fund expansion into other businesses but this guy was pushing the envelope don't you think?

The murdered girl's family gives a dental scholarship in her name every year. They have a huge oil painting of her in the entrance to the dental school and just 10 -15 feet away is the graduation picture of the guy who killed her. That's always seemed a little creepy to me.

Does anybody know whatever happened to Larry Lavin?? Did you guys read Doctor Dealer?? That enterpreneural spirit in dentistry really appealed to me. But i was disappointed that a guy had to break a law and get caught. Why not just open an internet store or an escort agency🙁

The dentist I've been shadowing went to school with a guy who had worked in a lab making crowns since high school. He was able to use his company's equipment in the evenings to make "emergency" sets for dental students who had screwed up a procedure and couldn't wait the week (or however long) it took from the regular lab. Since these students were in a bind, they were willing to shell out just about any amount and the guy made a small fortune.

I don't know if you guys are following this, but they are now reinvestigating the death of one of Corbin's buddy's dental assistants. Her body was found in a lake about a year after she went missing. They are saying there is no evidence to bring charges against Corbin... but man what a coincidence.
