Quick question to anyone who has interviewed there recently, about what time do morning interviews end (9:30AM starting times). I am trying to figure out travel plans, and need to know how early of a flight I can book that evening. Thanks!

I interviewed during the afternoon session, but we started at 1230 and the morning interviews were finished already. Ours lasted from 1230 - 330pm, so I think you can plan on being finished by 1230 if you attend the morning session. Amazing program btw I loved my interview in Charleston!

What about it impressed you the most? If you don't mind me asking...

well first off, it's a strong program that offers excellent clinical training. From talking with residents they have no problem getting lines, medical resuscitations, difficult airway experience, etc.. strong peds, good off-service rotations. Really all the programs I applied to offer great training though (most EM programs do..). What really made MUSC stand out so far was the attitude of the faculty and residents. They made it very obvious that the purpose of the interview was to get to know you and find out if you would be a good fit for their program, rather than to see how you respond to awkward interview questions. The PD is a very genuine, nice person. The interviewers asked me good questions about my application, which showed that they took time and actually read something from it. Got the feeling from residents that the program looks after them and is responsive to resident concerns. Plus Charleston is a great place to live.. lots of history, gorgeous downtown district, nearby beach with ok/decent surf, low COL..
