I have been accepted to the class of 2013 at MUSC, but I am currently completing a Masters of Science degree. Time is starting to run out to meet deadlines for May graduation, and I was wondering if any of you have experience with incomplete graduate degrees/dental school acceptance. I have been assured by my advisor that I will finish the degree by May, but I may technically graduate in August. He stated that a letter could be produced stating that all degree requirements have been met (coursework/thesis), that the degree would just be awarded in august. No time commitment would be required past may, but due to university deadlines the degree would technically be rewarded past may. I had a competitive undergraduate GPA (3.6), solid DAT scores (20 AA/21TS/18PAT: taken before masters degree), and have taken all of the required pre-requisites; but fear that my acceptance may be revoked due to cirumstance. Has anyone else had similar circumstances?

(P.S. MUSC classes start in June, as opposed to most schools)

Have you asked Javed?

also, one of our classmates is in Grad school and will not complete his degree, he has to return next summer(the only one we have off) to finish his degree. I think if you just okay it, there should be no problems... Like you said, you have completed all of the requirements for matriculation... a MS is not required, but you will have already completed it, so I dont' forsee a problem as long as you inform them.

I sent Mr. Liner an e-mail, yesterday. Thankfully, they said that I am not required to obtaining my masters degree in order to attend. Thanks for the help chund.
