Honestly, if you want some good books that you can use in clinical practice regarding orthopedics and clinical medicine try Magee"orhopedic physical assessment" or Hoppenfeld, " Physical Examination of the spine and extremities" if you are looking for treatments, you can try Travell's book on Trigger Points, postural assessment, injection, and stretches...it is easily one of the best physical medicine books out there. Also, any book or text by Shirley Sahrmann PhD PT, is awesome, it is all about movement disorders and TEACHING pt's not just passively treating them. Or you can try Florence Kendall's book on "Muscle Testing and Function"...something missing in osteopathic schools. Excellent stuff and FARRR more practical.

this is a great book. however, you must be trained in chinese medicine to get much out of it. basically, the book looks at each area of the ms body, for instance, the thoracic spine:

1) gives anatomica overview
2) chinese medicine overview
3) osteopathic treatment
4) acupunture prescription and point discussion
5) chinese manipulation techniques (tui na)
5) chinese herbal ideas

as for the osteopathic portion, you can find such techniques in any osteopathic textbook in more detail and with more options. as for the chinese medicine portion, i stress again that you must be trained in chinese medicine to make any use of it.

if you have completed your ostopathic and chinese medicine studies, it is a great book to combine all treatment options in one place.

as for other osteopathic books, there are tons out there. email me at [email protected] for more info.
