Hope things work out for you

I found that last year the AMCAS program was more picky than the others about what kind of computer (ie web-browser) you were trying to use. So even though you could log in to the MCAT on a macintosh internet explorer, it would appear as though your password was rejected if you tried AMCAS on Mac IE. So I ended up only being able to use AMCAS on Mac-Netscape or Windows IE I think.

Good call, apparently AMCAS hates Opera web browser (i never would have thought of this).

👍 👍

But I love Opera browser. Have you tried 7.5?

Anyways try calling them, they pick up really fast in my experience.

Why I hate Amcas app.
. First, it was on paper (nothing special, just a nice 4 page app)
. Then, they decided to make you download a program that would generate the paper app. However, you also had to submit your floppy to them.
. THEN they switched to web based. And the app turned into some 20 page monster! Now, the cali schools said "WTF!?!" And made every cali applicant fill out the original paper app as well !!!
. Finally they got their act together... So it would seem..

. Now, what pisses me off is that the web based app is such a pain to navigate. What should take 10 minutes to fill out takes hours! I wish they simply had a feature to upload and parse a document the same way job boards parse resumes. It would make our lives Sooooooooo much easier. And as for this huge paper app equiv, Come on! the 4 page app was sooooo much easier to read and look at. On what gets printed out, you can't find anything. I sooo much prefered when they sent you a program and you filled it out on your computer and the output looked just like the old paper app.

.... OK. I'll shut up now.

I had the same problem last year that some of you are reporting. I use a Mac and of course AMCAS has a problem with that just as everyone else. Anyway, this may sound silly, but it worked for me, so try this: put in your username and password. Then click again on the username so that the curser to type is on that line, as if you were going to type further in the username field. Then with your mouse (and not by hitting enter or return), click on the login button. This seems to do the trick. Let me know if it helps. 🙂

I liked Volume 1 better.

opera? where do you get it? and what advantages does it have? a web browser is a web browser right?

Mac Safari is fickle, too

i was bored one weekend last year so i entered all my info and transcript grades into amcas 2004 even though i wasn't going to apply until 2005. i figured at least i can get it all in and then only have to modify the info for this year....
so can somebody tell me where the "load old data" button is in 2005 amcas? :meanie:

opera.com

It's faster and has a lot more nifty kinds of things. Like it feels faster, blocks popups, built-in search bar, and isn't as liable to drive-by-downloads. Firefox is a good choice too. I really don't know why people use IE... it just doesn't work as well.

I cannot log into AMCAS for some reason. I changed my password even and it still wont let me log in! This is really annoying 😡 😡 😡
surprising I forgot my username! so I tried to register again. Luckily AMCAS had the required info and told me to change the password.
It worked fine for me. infact I almost done with the courses part. I just need to fill in the activities and the dang essay!
Good luck and remember apply as early as possible
😳 yes mom

I did the amcas, skiped a year, then did it again...
Although I could look at my old data, I sure couldn't import it the second time around simply due to the skipped year. 🙁
